Constant activities for kids are important to keep them engaged and active. Sometimes, in the pressure of studies and school, kids are missing out on doing fun things in their lives. A great solution is combining both academics and fun! One of the best ways to do that is by getting hold of science project kits for kids. These kits provide materials for various science projects that kids can do themselves with supervision. It’s also a great way to nurture creativity as well as a genuine interest in science. There are many ideas that might turn into science projects for kids.

Hydrophobic Sand-

Kids can make sand that never gets wet! All one needs for this experiment are some colored sand, a container, a plastic cup, water, and a water repellent fabric protector. All these materials can be easily available online or in science project kits. Take some sand in a container and soak it in the water repellent spray and mix it with a spoon, and spray another layer of the water repellent fabric protector. Keep mixing it every few hours until completely dry. Next fill the cup with water, pour the sand in it and just watch. The water repellent spray makes a coating on the sand particles which prevent it from getting wet, ever. It is a fascinating and very easy science project for kids.

Volcano-

A classic, it’s a project that has captivated the interest of kids forever. It is so because it is a very easy as well as an interesting project. All you need for this is dish soap, warm water, white vinegar, baking soda, food coloring, and a big soda bottle. First, make a baking soda slurry by mixing half a cup of baking soda and water and keep it aside once it’s liquid. Into the empty soda bottle white vinegar, warm water, dish soap, and 2 drops of food coloring properly. Once completely mixed, pour the baking soda slurry into the bottle and step back. There will be an eruption that is always both extremely funny and fascinating to kids. The vinegar and baking soda cause a chemical reaction that produces carbon dioxide. Since there is not enough space in the bottle, the contents tend to come out.

A rocket-

Kids can make a very easy rocket. The supplies needed are a plastic film canister with a lid, water, fizzy tablets like Alka-seltzer, a tray, and safety glasses. Fill the film canister quarter way with water and drop half a fizzy tablet and quickly put the lid on. Make sure you have safety glasses on. Next, flip the film canister and put it on the tray, and step back. Your rocket should launch in a few seconds. The water reacts with Alka-seltzer creating carbon dioxide and it expands, launching the canister out.

These activities are very fun and can entertain the kids as well teach them something new. Kids tend to retain information when it comes to this form. They can be a fun science project for kids at home and they can show their projects in the classroom later.
